Basics: Spot Blushing
Next
we'll begin darkening the areas of our doll that need further blushing.
Continue with the blush color we used for the mottling
layers:
pyrrole red, burnt umber, and a hint of pthalo blue. As the
thinner evaporates, you may need to add more to achieve the correct
consistency.

Dip the sponge into the paint
and blot off the excess on a paper towel.

Begin
adding color to areas of the arms and hands that are naturally darker:
the palm of the hands, the knuckles, the fingertips, fat
rolls
around the wrist, elbows, and the inner arms. Blend
outward until the blush has a natural appearance. (Blushing in the
photos has not been blended.)
Hint: Use the pointed part of the cosmetic sponge to get down into all
the little fat rolls and creases.

On the legs, add extra blush
to the toes, the ball and heel of the foot, the
edges of the foot, the knuckles, the top of the foot, behind the knee,
the inner leg, the inner and outer ankles, the knees, and any fat rolls.

On the head, blush lower
cheeks, edge of ears, tip of nose, tip of
chin, forehead (optional), and darken the inside of the mouth. Don't
forget those precious fat rolls on the back
of the neck!

Darken the rim of the eyes
slightly and blend out with thinner.

Now we're ready to bake again! He's really coming to life now!
