Custom
dolls are available for adoption! You can choose your doll's original
mold from any of the large selection of kits available on the market
today made especially to your specifications.
I would be glad to work from a family photograph, one of my other
reborns, or a prototype example. I communicate with my custom customers
frequently by phone and email to insure that the doll you order is the
doll that will arrive on your doorstep!
The Custom Process
Step 1) Contact me
for a custom order form, exact quote, and a payment agreement. I do not
accept verbal agreements/order specifications. I require all of your
specifications in writing to insure that nothing is overlooked in the
creation of your reborn.
Step 2)
Work with me to find the original mold for your baby.
If
working from a photograph, please include this with your order form. I
encourage you to send several pictures (from relatively the same age)
in different poses/angles to help me get a feel for the subject's
facial features.

several hundred molds on the market, and I will work with you to find
just the right face for your baby!

Step 3) Return your
order form, payment agreement, and money order to Heart Land Babies.
I also accept Paypal and payment plans can be arranged if
necessary.
Step 4)
Once your paperwork is submitted and base doll arrives, I
will
begin the custom creation process, which involves custom painting with
Genesis Heat Set paints, hair and eyelash rooting, eye installation and
assembly. Your original order is considered final (for example, I can't
change hair color once I've rooted a doll) but I would be glad to send
in-progress photos so that you can approve a likeness.
Step 5)
Wait. This is the hardest part! Due to
the volume of
work involved in creating both reborns for general adoption and custom
orders (and mailing time for supplies), custom orders take 4 weeks to
complete. If you need a rush order, please contact me anyway
as
certain times of the year are less busy and I may be able to create a
doll more quickly.
Pricing
Because the base costs of kits vary widely, I will provide an exact
quote for you based on the doll size and original mold you choose.
Below are rough guidelines I use to price custom orders.
These prices include standard polymer eyes (if applicable)
and
two layette pieces. Glass eyes and painted hair may be added for an
additional fee.

* Why are reborns so expensive? When I became
interested in reborns I wondered the same thing. The main
reasons
are the cost of kits and supplies, their limited availability, and the
incredible amount of time each reborn takes to create. For
example, each doll may require 8-15 layers of heat set paint, 20-30
hours of rooting, etc. The profit for the artist isn't much,
but
we
do it for the love of reborning!

I
received my
darling baby this afternoon. What a little sweetheart she is. I took
her to
town this afternoon. She was checked out from head to toe. One older
lady ask
when she was born, I know she can't be very old. I had to tell her
twice that
it was a doll. Don't know if she ever believed me or not. No one could
believe
it was a doll. Even my son’s boss had to take her and hold
